Our Black History Showcase was an exciting night filled with creative arts and capped off with a spectacular show. This unforgettable evening paid homage to African-American culture and celebrated Black History Month. Taking place at Booker T. Washington Senior High on February 25th, our youth fully accepted the assignment and stunned everyone in attendance. The performances and art displayed showed that our youth have loads of talent, as the audience was wowed through song, dance, music, spoken word and visual art.
The gallery of art featured extraordinary hand painted unique creations. On display there were one-of-a-kind masks, which were designed as a form of tribute to African art, as well as stunning hand sculpted designs that were colorful and breathtaking. After perusing the stunning art pieces, audience goers were treated to a fantastic showcase. Sharing historic and factual moments from Black History, our kids put on a showstopping performance with songs reflective of black history, dance performances that were an ode to Black ancestry and monologue and spoken word that celebrated African-American accomplishments. We are proud of the exceptional work our kids did, as this truly amazing night celebrated Black History in an outstanding fashion.
