A big milestone for our OYC Miami-Dade middle school students as they prepare to take the next step in their educational journey. 🎓💙
Some of the students transitioning into high school participated in our High School Signing Day, proudly announcing the school they will attend this fall and celebrating the exciting opportunities ahead.
At OYC, we understand that educational success is built through preparation, guidance, and exposure. Events like these help students and families navigate important transitions while building excitement and confidence for the future.

Alma Wanjiru has continued to lead with intelligence, dedication, and a heart for service throughout her high school journey.
After completing more than 300 hours of community service, Alma will continue her academic journey at Miami Dade College where she plans to major in computer science and AI human interaction.
Her passion for technology, innovation, and giving back to her community reflects the bright future ahead of her. We are proud of all Alma has accomplished and excited to watch her continue to thrive. 💙

Summer Alcin has dedicated herself to excellence in academics, service, and leadership throughout her high school journey.
Graduating in the top 5% of her class from Miami Norland Senior High School, Summer also earned her Associate of Arts degree from Miami Dade College while balancing extracurricular activities and completing more than 1,200 hours of community service.
This fall, she will attend Florida International University where she plans to major in nursing.
“OYC has made me fall in love with giving back and encouraging young Black girls and boys to dream bigger, believe in themselves, and never limit what they can achieve.”

Franteria Dantus-Cooper has set the standard for academic excellence, leadership, and service throughout her high school journey.
Graduating as the valedictorian of Miami Norland Senior High School, Franteria earned her Associate of Arts degree from Miami Dade College while completing more than 700 hours of community service and maintaining an unwavering commitment to her future.
This fall, she will continue her academic journey at Howard University.

A’Dereon Dunson has consistently demonstrated excellence, discipline, and determination throughout his high school journey.
Graduating in the top 1% of his class from Booker T. Washington Senior High School, A’Dereon earned more than 30 dual enrollment credits through Miami Dade College while consistently challenging himself with honors level coursework all four years.
His hard work and academic success earned him more than $160,000 in scholarships, including the prestigious Bright Futures Scholarship.
This fall, he will continue his academic journey at Florida State University where he plans to major in nursing.

@kpmg KPMG continues to be a valued partner in supporting literacy and learning at OYC Miami through their ongoing commitment to volunteerism and youth engagement. 💙📚
During this year’s experience, volunteers spent meaningful time reading with our students and leading creative, hands-on activities that encouraged imagination, learning, and fun. Students also had the opportunity to select three books to take home, along with backpacks filled with arts, educational, and enrichment items to continue the experience beyond the classroom.
