We marked a defining moment as OYC officially celebrated its partnership with Broward County Public Schools, expanding access to our comprehensive service model for youth and families across Broward County.
This historic milestone reflects the vision, leadership, and collaboration of the many champions who made this partnership possible. We extend our sincere appreciation to @dws Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, @maurabcps School Board Member Maura McCarthy Bulman, @joshlevymayorofhollywoodfl Mayor Josh Levy, and McNicol Middle Magnet & STEM School Principal Deidre Benka Coker, whose commitment to expanding opportunities for youth and families helped bring this vision to life.
The celebration featured inspiring remarks from @honeychildtracy Deputy Superintendent Dr. Angela Fulton, Principal Deidre Benka Coker, Mayor Josh Levy, Alonzo Mourning, School Board Member Maura McCarthy Bulman, and Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, each reinforcing a shared commitment to expanding opportunity through education, partnership, and community investment.
We were also honored by the presence of Florida State Senator @shevrinjones , along with elected officials, Broward County Public Schools leadership, community partners, educators, families, and supporters who joined us in celebrating this landmark occasion.
For more than 20 years, OYC has inspired, empowered, and enriched youth, adults, and families across South Florida. Through this official partnership with Broward County Public Schools, OYC will continue delivering its comprehensive service model for youth and families by providing academic support, STEM education, arts enrichment, health and wellness, family services, economic sustainability, and college and career readiness that empower people to learn, grow, and succeed.

This year’s Band of Brothers Summit, under the theme I Am HIM: Hands on Independence and Mastery, challenged young men to strengthen their leadership, explore career pathways, and develop the confidence to pursue their purpose. Through engaging workshops and mentorship, participants gained practical skills while discovering the value of integrity, resilience, and service.

🎤 OYC Miami was proud to be part of TEDx Overtown Youth, where our youth had the opportunity to learn, lead, and shine.
Our interns gained valuable workplace experience by supporting event logistics, registration, audience engagement, and behind the scenes operations, developing professional skills that will prepare them for future careers. @honeychildtracy attended and supported our youth during this awesome opportunity.
In addition, OYC students took the stage to showcase their musical talents, demonstrating confidence, creativity, and the power of self expression.

🎓 Congratulations to the graduates of United in Finance!
Over the course of eight weeks, participants completed an intensive workforce development program designed to prepare adults for careers in the financial services industry. Through training in financial literacy, customer service, interview preparation, resume development, application assistance, and one on one mentoring, graduates gained the knowledge, confidence, and professional skills needed to pursue new career opportunities.
In recognition of their hard work and dedication, each graduate earned a program certification and received a laptop to support their continued career journey, along with graduation gifts provided by OYC Miami.
Programs like United in Finance reflect OYC Miami’s commitment to Economic Sustainability by creating pathways to employment, financial independence, and long term career success for adults in our community.

⛳ Learning does not stop when campers leave the classroom. It simply takes on a new adventure.
Our elementary campers recently enjoyed a field trip to Puttshack Miami, where they put teamwork, communication, problem solving, and sportsmanship into action while having fun together.
At OYC Miami, field trips are more than a day away from camp. They are opportunities to expose youth to new environments, encourage exploration, build confidence, and create meaningful experiences that inspire learning beyond the classroom.
