As a valued partner, supporter, and champion of our work, the NBA Foundation continues to invest in opportunities that strengthen career development and expand access to meaningful resources for our youth. During their visit, our founder Alonzo Mourning led the tour, offering a firsthand look at our programs while sharing the vision and impact that continue to drive our work forward.
With 100 percent of our seniors graduating, it is important for partners like the NBA Foundation to see how their support helps create real pathways to success and long-term opportunity for our youth.
Partnerships like this reflect a shared commitment to creating pathways, opening doors, and preparing our youth for what comes next.

OYC Miami took time to celebrate the heart of our organization, our incredible staff. 💙
Through a weeklong staff appreciation celebration, we honored the dedication, passion, and commitment our team brings each and every day to the more than 5,000 youth and families we serve. From moments of relaxation with massages and acupuncture, to a “Thanks a Latte” café experience, yoga, Hawaiian dance class , staff Olympics, and a fun-filled movie day, the week was all about pouring back into those who pour so much into our community.
It is their consistency, care, and belief in our mission that continues to move OYC Miami forward. This was a small way to say thank you for the big impact they make every single day. 💙

Thea Mitzman, a dedicated philanthropic leader, will be recognized with the 2026 Phenomenal Women Award for her unwavering commitment to community and service. Yvette Morell, a respected professional within the Miami HEAT Basketball Operations, will receive the 2026 Shine Beyond Award for her excellence, leadership, and lasting contributions behind the scenes.
Presented by Christy Martin of @TerraGroupMiami, whose leadership and continued commitment to community help create meaningful pathways for impact, this fundraising event supports Camp Honey Shine, a six week summer program held at the beautiful @carrolltonsacredheart where girls grow through mentorship, leadership, and sisterhood.

They reinforce the importance of discipline, teamwork, and staying active, all while connecting our youth to environments that push them to think bigger about what’s possible for their future. Through experiences like this, we continue to support the overall health and wellness of our youth both on and off the field.

Surrounded by support, pride, and unforgettable moments, this evening marked a major milestone for our seniors as they prepare to take their next steps in their journey.

OYC Miami heads to Washington, D.C. each year, giving our youth a firsthand look at how leadership, government, and civic responsibility come to life. Through this annual experience with the @closeup_dc Foundation, learning moves beyond the classroom and into real-world understanding rooted in our Enrichment and Exposure pillar.
This year, students engaged in a powerful conversation with civil rights attorney Ben Crump, gaining insight into advocacy, justice, and the responsibility of using your voice. During the visit, the kids had workshops and conferences with other youths from all across America, explored iconic landmarks including the Washington Monument and the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, connecting history to the impact they can make today.
This is what exposure looks like. Perspective expanded. Confidence built. Leaders in the making. ✨
