🌺🎒 Aloha to Summer. Hello to a Bright New School Year!
OYC celebrated the end of an incredible summer with our Summer Bookbag Distribution, sending students into the new school year ready to learn and succeed.
With more than 700 bookbags prepared for students, our students got into the theme and limboed their way to their backpacks. They then posed for photos at our tropical photo booth, and enjoyed an afternoon filled with music, fun, and plenty of aloha spirit.
The Summer Bookbag Distribution was hosted by @raynest_official with other sponsors including @7sundayheroes @univmiami @lennarhomes who also provided packing support, in addition to other sponsors , @browardschoolsofficial , @empire_and_co , @miamifoundation , @kidneyfl and @bankunited.official .
Also, a special thank you to our @target volunteers for helping pack backpacks and distribute them to our students, making the day even more memorable.

🎭✨ The curtain closed on an unforgettable summer as OYC and Camp Honey Shine proudly presented A Night on Broadway, our End of Summer Showcase.
More than 600 students took center stage in a spectacular production that celebrated a summer of growth, creativity, and confidence. As part of OYC’s expansion into Broward County, Broward students participated in the showcase for the first time, making this year’s performance an even more meaningful milestone.
From the electrifying energy of Michael Jackson to the magic of Aladdin and other beloved Broadway classics, our youth proved that with opportunity, dedication, and encouragement, they can accomplish extraordinary things. Every song, dance, and performance reflected the confidence, talent, and hard work they developed throughout the summer.
The celebration continued with our Summer Block Party, where students, families, staff, and supporters came together to celebrate an incredible season filled with learning, friendship, and unforgettable memories.
A special thank you to the Anthony R. Abraham Foundation for generously providing ice cream during our Summer Block Party and helping make the celebration even sweeter for our youth and families.

OYC hosted its Broward Bookbag Distribution and Information Session at McNicol Middle Magnet & STEM School, sponsored by @raynest_official and @7sundayheroes welcoming incoming 4th through 8th grade students and their families as they prepared for the 2026–2027 school year.
Students received backpacks filled with school supplies and two school uniform polos, while parents had the opportunity to learn more about McNicol Middle Magnet & STEM School, OYC’s comprehensive year round in school and after school programming, and the resources available to support their families. The event also featured food, refreshments, Kona Ice, music,, and opportunities for families to connect with the OYC and McNicol teams.

Our annual Chant Off brought the OYC Miami campus to life as students showed off their creativity, teamwork, and school pride through high energy performances and friendly competition. Started with a big bang with our admin team leading out @mr.pop_n_lock … this year’s chant off was like no other!
More than just a competition, the Chant Off builds confidence, encourages collaboration, and creates lasting memories that bring our OYC family together.

We marked a defining moment as OYC officially celebrated its partnership with Broward County Public Schools, expanding access to our comprehensive service model for youth and families across Broward County.
This historic milestone reflects the vision, leadership, and collaboration of the many champions who made this partnership possible. We extend our sincere appreciation to @dws Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, @maurabcps School Board Member Maura McCarthy Bulman, @joshlevymayorofhollywoodfl Mayor Josh Levy, and McNicol Middle Magnet & STEM School Principal Deidre Benka Coker, whose commitment to expanding opportunities for youth and families helped bring this vision to life.
