Through our Economic Sustainability pillar, we understand that career development is about providing our youth with real opportunities to gain skills, exposure, and credentials that prepare them for the workforce. Achievements like this reflect what happens when access meets effort.

Zyiaire Martinez has continued to lead with focus, ambition, and determination throughout his academic journey while consistently preparing himself for future success.
Graduating with honors and earning more than 30 dual enrollment credits through Miami Dade College, Zyiaire will continue his academic journey this fall at Florida A&M University where he plans to major in mechanical engineering.

Through leadership opportunities, coding, business programs, and mentorship, Zyiaire has continued to grow into a driven and focused young man ready to take on the future. We are proud of all he has accomplished and excited for what lies ahead. 💙

Talayah Ahkbar has led with resilience, strength, and determination throughout her high school journey while balancing academics, athletics, and leadership opportunities.
Graduating with honors from Miami Edison Senior High School, Talayah participated in basketball, track, flag football, and OYC Miami while continuing to grow into a confident and driven young woman.
This fall, she will begin the Ignite program at Tallahassee State College before continuing her journey toward a nursing degree at Florida A&M University.

For the past 11 years, @miamifoundation has hosted The State of Black Philanthropy, creating a powerful space for celebration, reflection, and action. 💙
This gathering continues to highlight the intentional work being done to build a thriving future for Black communities, while honoring the leadership, investment, and generosity that help shape a stronger and more equitable Greater Miami.
This year’s event served as a meaningful reminder of what can happen when community, collaboration, and purpose come together. The evening also recognized changemakers whose leadership, service, and commitment continue to make a lasting difference throughout our community.
We are grateful to stand alongside organizations and leaders dedicated to creating opportunities and strengthening the future of Greater Miami. 💙

OYC Miami was proud to host @miamifoundation Quarter 2 Scholarship Convening, bringing together local nonprofits for a day centered around collaboration, opportunity, and impact. 💙
Organizations from across the community came together to learn more about the work happening at OYC Miami while engaging in meaningful conversations around scholarships, college access, and strategies to ensure youth and families are more informed about the opportunities available to them.
The convening also included a campus tour, giving attendees a firsthand look at our programs, our mission, and the wraparound approach we take to supporting youth and families through our pillars of impact.
Moments like this remind us of the power of partnership and collective work in creating stronger pathways toward educational and long-term success for the communities we serve. 💙

Ranked in the top 2% of her graduating class at Miami Edison Senior High School, Alana graduates with honors after balancing JROTC, flag football, OYC Miami, and a part time position at Lotus House. After graduation, she will officially begin her next chapter by joining the Army.
For more than 10 years, Alana has been a part of the OYC Miami family, growing into a confident and driven young woman committed to giving back and mentoring future generations of OYC students.
